Carnival Rides

Being in a family of engineers, I found it interesting to see how ingenous the troup had been in constructing carnival rides that did not require electric motors and other modern devices.

On this ride, youngsters and adults got a chance to ride a dragon. I know it is a bit hard to see in this picture. It is your basic swing at work, powered by attendants who pushed it to make it go. dragon ride
merry-go-round The merry-go-round was suspened from a large pole. The ride attendants made it go by rotating it so that the ropes wound around the pole. When they let go, it would unwind and the momentum would wind it around the pole the other direction.
